Opera
publica was planed as an anti-elitist mise en scène
and developed as a heterogeneous tableau of works. The editors
Margit Nobis and Clemens Mock present a book project which
combines the interdisciplinary works of 40 contemporary
artists with avant-garde texts of 7 authors: experimental
cultural studies, philosophy and "art poetique"
create an Opera publica-in-a-book. "Opera" not
in the sense of a musical stage performance of so-called
high culture but as a narrative figure of thought in publication;
"publica" as a promise of correspondence with
the audience: the public. See
